IIT-Madras had shortlisted Startup Finals Pitch event on 19-Jan 2020 at IIT-Madras. 

Around 12 teams were shortlisted for the final pitch and it had innovative and interesting initiatives across industries – agri to e-vehicles. 

Shyam had been part of such events from IIT-Madras for almost 4-5 years now.  He quoted that some of the initiatives were very interesting and potential to scale higher and that most times they were wanting a proper mentoring support to guide them thru’ the business side of their initiative. 

The Jury members included Shyam Sekar, Founder CEO – Startup Xperts, Chandran Krishnan – CEO Chennai Angels, Gopala Krishnan from Deshpande Startups, and Jeetendra Kang – Director of Flex.  The finalists were given 5 mins to pitch and Q&A session was planned for an additional 5-mins from the Jury end. 

The talk Big Ideas organized the last of 2019 event at Coimbatore, on 18-Dec at Radisson Blue Hotel.  Like the previous events it had many interesting talks and panel discussions.

Startup Xperts was the Knowledge Partner for the talk and had identified Award Winners for 3 Emerging SMEs of Coimbatore, 3 Emerging Women Entrepreneurs of Coimbatore and one Rural Entrepreneur Award as well. 

Mr Shyam Sekar, Founder and CEO -Startup Xperts was a Panel Speaker along with Mr Kaarthick – CEO, Cultiv8, and moderated by Prof. Arvind Subramanyam – CEO and Dean, Firebird Institute of Research and Management, Coimbatore.

It’s always nice to be at M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women sharing thoughts and contributing to their Entrepreneurship drive initiative. This year it was focused in including faculty from various colleges in and around #chennai . Shyam Sekar S, CEO of Startup Xperts had talk on Institutional Linkages in Entrepreneurship building. Happy to be a part this year as well and looking to continue our association in future programs as well!

It was wonderful to see a great initiative at Andaman – MYENA, My Andaman Entrepreneurs Awards 2019. Mr. Shyam Sekar S, deliver a keynote on Transforming Businesspersons to Entrepreneurs. Thrilled to see the arrangements incl visible posters in the city. Glad to have the Honourable MP delivering a great talk!

This initiative couldn’t have been possible without my proud Mentee Sunil Gupta who is getting entrenched into the startup, entrepreneurship ecosystem. Thanks Mr. Sunil for your initiative, hospitality, and look forward to seeing bigger programs as you have set the bar high.

IIT Bombay organizes Illuminate – National BMC Workshops in about 40+ cities across India, and had organized this Business Model Canvas Workshop at National Engineering College (NEC) Kovilpatti.

IIT Bombay had requested Shyam Sekar S, Founder and Chief Mentor @ Startup Xperts, to conduct the 1-day session on Entrepreneurship and Business Model Canvas to the aspiring entrepreneurs at NEC.  Shyam had conducted this 1-day workshop successfully on 20-Sep 2019 and over 80 students attended this program.  Speaking at this event, Shyam had highlighted the importance of creating rural entrepreneurs and that the spirt of entrepreneurship has to spread well beyond the cities and into smaller towns and villages as well.

Mentoring IIT-Madras Startups

Shyam Sekar, Chief Mentor and Strategist at Startup Xperts was invited to Mentor shortlisted startups at IIT-Madras.  Shyam has been mentoring numerous startups and aspiring entrepreneurs at IIT Madras for many years now, and the quality of new ideas that can be executed is turning out better.

There were 2 different sessions conducted as a process of shortlist and Shyam had mentored many startup ideas in Aug and Sept, at IIT Madras.
